
This year, RICE is excited to be hosting a comics workshop for kids with local graphic novelist Brian Yanish! The workshop will take place from 10am-11am on Saturday, March 25 in the Sibley Building! Yanish is the author and illustrator of the Shark and Bot series of graphic novels.
This is a FREE workshop, however parents/guardians must register their kids for the workshop ahead of time:



Brian Yanish is an author, illustrator, designer and maker. His books include the young graphic novels Zombie Doughnut Attack! (Random House 2022), Sleepaway Champs (2021), Shark and Bot (2020), Pirate Chicken: All Hens on Deck (Sourcebooks 2019) and the forthcoming Epic Roller Coaster Ride! (RH 2023) and Sweet and Sour (FSG 2024.) He has worked for Jim Henson Productions, trained as a special effects moldmaker, written and performed comedy and designed educational software, home furnishings, apparel and toys. He is the creator of ScrapKins®, a Recycled Arts Enrichment program that inspires kids to see creative potential in everyday junk. As a presenter, Brian has shared STEAM based workshops and talks with schools and institutions including the American Museum of Natural History, Boston Children’s Museum, The World Science Festival and even appeared on Sesame Street. He lives in Rochester, NY.
